About Brothers' Blues

Brothers' Blues - Soulful country-folk rock music artist

The Name

The name Brothers' Blues is rooted in deep personal history. It is a direct homage to The Blues Brothers—a film so influential I wore out two VHS copies. That soulful music holds a sacred place in my heart, and the movie stands as a powerful monument to my high school friendships. Carrying my real last name, Brothers, this project is my new voice in Americana—delivering stories as authentic as the legacy of friendship and fandom that shapes its sound.

The Sound

My sound is forged from decades of life, driven by "a little Blues in my soul" that demands to be heard. It's not just about genre; it's a commitment to honesty. I have tried to blend the passionate echoes of Freddie Mercury (Queen), the soulful groove of Bobby Sheehan (Blues Traveler), and the intricate artistry of Phish. This mix weaves into a sound that is unapologetically raw and emotional... ME!

The Journey

I waited decades to release music. This first song marks a milestone 50 years in the making. It's an invitation to lean in, listen closely, and find a piece of your own story within the music.

An Interview with Brothers' Blues

Q: What's the inspiration behind "The Silent War Within"?

Several years ago, a family member faced significant legal consequences and was incarcerated for a short period. Their actions leading up to this point—fueled by addiction—had already seemingly severed every one of their friendships. However, the true breaking point for me came when I was tricked into paying for that habit myself, irrevocably destroying the trust I had placed in them.

The difficulty in moving forward is compounded by the fact that they have never offered a true, meaningful apology. As a result, my current form of therapy is channeling these feelings into songwriting.

Q: What does it feel like to put that out into the world?

I have to admit—I'm nervous as hell. This is a raw side of my personality I don't often show. So "ripping off the band-aid" and exposing this wound to the world is a risk, but all art is risk! I believe it has helped me come to terms with it... made me reflect more on that "internal struggle" I've had all these years.

Q: You use AI as the "performer." Can you explain that choice?

Yes, the voices and instrumental performances you hear are generated by AI (LLM). My role is that of the director and composer. I meticulously craft every lyric and melody, providing precise instructions to the LLM regarding vocal delivery, tone, and instrumental feel.

This process mirrors the meticulous detail of traditional studio production, but without the logistical challenges of live musicians. The LLM functions as an incredibly versatile ensemble that brings my creative vision and emotional intent to life, unconstrained by my own performance abilities. For me, the true authenticity lies in the raw, human story I pour into the LLM's creation.

Q: What's next for Brothers' Blues?

I have a slew of tracks I've been working on—some nearly finished, others still needing polish. I have nearly 50 years of history and stories I can share, as long as someone is interested in listening! While traditional live touring isn't in the cards right now, I plan to build a legacy through these recordings.
